Hannah Usadi

Water and the Origin of Life

I am passionate about creating engaging visualizations to tell stories that foster deep understanding and connection. At the heart of effective visual communication is capturing an audience through empathy: understanding and emotion are inevitably intertwined. I am always looking to learn, collaborate, and expand the limits of how we can communicate science.

Hannah Usadi is a visual artist based in Atlanta. She was born in 2001 in Brooklyn, NY and grew up in New Jersey. She attended Rice University in May of 2023, where she received degrees in mechanical engineering and studio art. Since graduating, she has collaborated with The Williams Lab at Georgia Tech to communicate research on the origin of life. As an undergraduate student, Hannah was recognized by Rice for her artistic contributions to the university, including her multimedia comics, digital illustrations, and acrylic paintings. Hannah hopes to continue to collaborate with scientists to push the boundaries of visual communication and engage diverse audiences with science.
